Adopt-a-Box lets you paint original artwork on traffic signal boxes at every intersection in Hamilton

Traffic signal boxes are metal boxes that house traffic light electronics. In Hamilton there are over 60 traffic signal boxes, many of which have been adopted but we have 7 boxes  and a number of  WEL cabinets which are available now!

The WEL pillar boxes which are available for adoption are spread throughout the city and you can select one in your area, community or place of work!  Just contact us as above and we can get the ball rolling.  (Please note not all of the available boxes appear on the map, but will be added once they are adopted.) These pillars are being adopted quickly - the first two have now been completed and can be seen at Collingwood/Anglesea St intersection.

There are always boxes available to paint and we want you to get involved.

No matter what your age or your level of artistic experience, if you are an everyday Hamiltonian you can help decorate the city's streets, and even your neighbourhood, by designing and painting an original artwork on a traffic signal box.

Adopt-a-Box is a Hamilton City Council initiative made possible by funding from the Ministry of Justice's Graffiti Vandalism Prevention Fund.
